Thought you might like to see a few more of the Christmas cards I have been making.
For the little angel from Crafty Individuals, top left, I coloured her with Pro Markers and used a fine glitter on her wings, then made some faux metal and put it through an embossing folder and then the Alterations Baroque die. The Three Kings by Elusive Images, kindly lent to me by Alison, were also coloured with Pro Markers. For the little angel bottom left I alcohol-inked some card stock and cut the border strip with a Cuttlebug die.
I made the Easel card using a wooden reindeer from the Altered Element and Nestie and Alterations dies. For the Elusive Images scene, kindly lent to me by Alison again, I used Pro Markers and cut off the greeting from the bottom, and used the Following Yonder Star from the Three Kings set, on an Alterations die. The edging on the left was again the Cuttlebug die.The card bottom left was made with the Crafty Individuals Partridge in a Pear Tree, coloured with Pro Markers and the edges corner-rounded and inked. The partridge bottom right of the card is from the Creative Expressions set. The card bottom right uses the same stamp sets but on shrink plastic, but I have used the remains of the paper cut from the edges of the bracket shaped card to make a pretty shape across the middle of the card.
The top two cards are again the Pear Tree sets on shrink, and the one on the right has a border strip across the middle which was part of the lower piece of card used to cover the bracket shaped card, with another, co-ordinating, piece for the top half. For the card bottom left I used the waste card from cutting out some reindeer, i.e. the negative, and bottom right I have used the Three Kings, this time on shrink plastic.

Valentine Card - Harlequin Rose
I made this card for Valentine's Day for my husband, Colin. I used the Elusive Images Harlequin Rose set and made a gatefold card with the border design right across the front and the verse and small rose inside. On the front I stamped the words, 'My Soulmate', and I stamped the frond-edged rose onto alcohol inked glossy cardstock and carefully cut it out, and positioned it across the opening. I have kept the card simple as he likes minimalist designs.

We Three Kings of Orient Are
I realize now that I labelled the JPEG, The Three Kings, which sounds more as though I'd been off to pick up beer mats from the pub, than the biblical reference it was meant to be! Sorry that this canvas is rather like the Three Wise Men from the other day, but I wanted to upload it, having made the very fiddly crowns. I stamped them on shrink plastic but they were a little large for the scale, so I re-did them, carefully trimming a little bit away from the bottom border and cutting as much of the white away as possible. I coloured them with dry Inktense pencils and a gold pen, and added some little red gems. I haven't shown the sides but I have stamped Peace and Joy and the Crowns around the sides. The embellishment at the top of the canvas is another of the die cut pieces, painted gold, from the Craft Obsessions pack, which is going such a long way!
The other canvas was much smaller, and I quite fancy re-doing this one in the same size, and then a third one (I like working in threes) with just the text on, so that they match and can be arranged together on a wall.
My next blog posting will definitely be something a bit different - especially for me!

Three Wise Men Canvas
Alison came over for a play day yesterday, and as always, we had a great time. Alison was making some stunning metal work pieces, and some Christmas cards, and I was managing to dabble and not finish anything. The only thing I did finish was this little canvas using a set of Elusive Images stamps kindly lent to me by Alison.

Crafts Beautiful - Harlequin Rose
I've been lucky enough to be in this month's Crafts Beautiful magazine, October issue. I made a heart shaped box available from Boxy Lady, and a Bamboo Tile necklace available from the Artistic Stamper. I used the fabulous Elusive Images Harlequin Rose A4 theme plate, which is one of the loveliest sets I've ever used, which is saying a lot. It has a good mixture of images and text which all work together well, and the long border is particularly useful. I won't show you what is in the mag, but I was on a bit of a roll when I did the article and had a bit of a production line going, so here are a couple of other items made with the set. In the article I used a pink velvet ricrac for a finishing touch, which was by American Crafts, and was from Craftopia, but the stockist info isn't given in the article.
