The First Noel!
This is my first Christmas offering for 2009, as I had to get into the mood for a magazine article. The stamp is a gorgeous new one from Crafty Individuals, with Santa on his Sleigh flying across a starry sky with the buildings below. It's actually their special offer stamp at the mo. I will be using this for loads of other projects over the next few weeks, as it has really conjured up so many ideas. This is a small canvas, used in reverse, with a distressy frame of image transferred Crafty Individuals Christmas papers. I decided not to disguise the staples, to add to the grungy look.

When I first saw this I thought what a great framed image and then found on reading it was created by using the reverse of a canvas - wow love it - the stamp is gorgeous and I can see why its so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteVery nice and I love the stamp, which if selectively stamped could be used for non-seasonal subjects too !!
ReplyDeletevery nice Lucy. great idea using the reverse of the canvas. the textured effect round the edge of the frame is lovely - the colour of it really makes the inside image stand out
ReplyDeleteThis is just fabulous Lucy, great use of the canvas! Love that image too! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it. Yes, I thought that, Sid, in fact the stamp wasn't wide enough for the frame so I stamped it twice on tissue paper, the second time masking the sleigh, and added an extra row of buildings at the end. I liked the unusual architecture of the houses: they don't look UK.
ReplyDeleteA lovely idea to make this a framed picture. It makes me feel very Christmacy!
ReplyDeleteLovely gift for Christmas. I had my eye on that stamp as the continental architecture appeals to me so now I just have to buy it. In fact you have sparked an idea. Lynne M x
