The Crafty Individuals' challenge for September is
'Last Days of Summer'. My framed French menu and wine bottles represents what this means to me as this year I have been desperate for a break from our house problems and was hoping to get to France before the summer was over for some nice meals out. Well, we made it! We just got back Sunday evening and feel more refreshed now and able to face our DIY and unpacking. The house is chaos but we are getting there. I am hoping we will get the internet set up in the next few days. We are coping well with sleeping on the floor although we hadn't bargained on how difficult it is to get up from the floor at our age! I find rolling over onto all fours and then crawling is the best way, but it is a bit undignified!
I used the Crafty Individuals' Spring background papers together with the wine and menu stamp CI 348 and the floral postcard stamp CI 302. I stamped the bottles onto clear packaging material and then curved them with the heat gun.
I hope you will join in the challenge and show us what the last days of summer mean to you - there's always a great prize!
Great tag, love the wine bottles, and I can relate to rolling over onto all fours! Valerie
ReplyDeleteLucy, it is not that I don't feel your pain, but I also did laugh at your expense! Sorry!! I can get pretty achy just getting out of a bed in the AM! So glad that you were able to enjoy some nice days in France!
ReplyDeleteI did see this DT project at CI and was waiting for you to post it. Love those wine bottles, so fitting on the frames edge! Great menu! Love this piece!
Have a great day and soon, really soon, it will all just be a memory to laugh at!
Hugs!
It's a lovely piece Lucy!
ReplyDeleteHope you solve as soon as possible your house problem :-)
Welcome back Lucy, glad you got a break and some time in France.
ReplyDeleteLove this menu, what a fabulous way you have put it together with the realistic bottles and gorgeous colours.
Now like Terry you gave me such a mental picture in my head you made me laugh with your story. Apologies but the way you have written it and painted that picture in words is hilarious. Good luck with getting everything organised and looking forward to seeing you.
hugs {brenda} xox
Beautiful work Lucy and love how you've worked those bottles.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great holiday but feel sympathy for you sleeping on the floor, lets hope you get your bed back soon. Annette x
Love the luscious pink frame, Lucy. many years ago I used to sleep on a futon that we rolled up each morning. Don't think I could do that now! :-)
ReplyDeleteFantastic project Lucy. Love everything about it. Great to hear you have had a good time in France. I would need a winch and pulley system to get me off the floor! lol! Hope you sort it out soon. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteRegards Florence x
